About Your Photographer

Hi, I'm Amanda

I started photographing my own life at 14, after my older sister, who I’ve always looked up to, told me she regretted not taking more photos growing up. That one sentence stuck with me for years before I even realized it was steering my whole life.

Fast forward to my own maternity session with my cousin, who’s also a photographer. I’m pretty sure I broke her a little. I showed up with printed instructions for every single pose, where my husband’s hands should go, exactly where my stepson should stand, how my whole family should be arranged, step by step, like a tiny photography syllabus. I spent half the session flipping through paperwork instead of just being in the moment. At one point my cousin laughed and said, “you know nobody else does this, right?” And that was it. That was the moment the idea planted itself in my brain and refused to leave.

I started photographing my friends, my family, my own kids, anyone who’d let me, and I fell completely in love with it. Somewhere between those backyard sessions and way too many hours studying light, posing, and editing, it turned into what it is now, full styled, editorial portrait experiences for women going through some of the biggest chapters of their lives.

A Few Quirky Things About Me

  • My dogs sleep in my bed. I know, I know, but I love waking up to their mushy little faces too much to care what anyone thinks about it.
  • My friends recently nicknamed me “feral toddler” because apparently when we’re all together I get a little too silly, a little too loud, and am generally considered a flight risk. It stuck so hard that now I just text the group chat “feral toddler is coming out tonight” before we hang out, fair warning included.
  • I’m also a walking contradiction when it comes to my daughters. I stress about microplastics and hide chopped spinach in their smoothies like it’s a covert mission, but I also let my teenager go on night walks with friends and handed my preteen our entire formal dining room to turn into her nail salon and craft room. Pick your battles, right?

My Family

A Few Things About Me and Photography Specifically

*If you walk into my studio and see me holding a mug, it’s a double bagged green tea with honey. Every single time. It’s basically my pre-session ritual at this point, clean energy, no jitters, fully ready to make you look incredible.

*Also, if a session just wrapped and the backdrop is still standing there unrolled, that’s normal. I am too tired to deal with studio cleanup right after a shoot, so it just waits for me the next day. No shame.

Why I Do This

At the end of the day, I just really believe these chapters, the bump, the chaos of a growing family, the brand you built from nothing, deserve more than a phone photo buried in your camera roll. I’d love to be the one who captures yours.
