I started photographing my own life at 14, after my older sister, who I’ve always looked up to, told me she regretted not taking more photos growing up. That one sentence stuck with me for years before I even realized it was steering my whole life.
Fast forward to my own maternity session with my cousin, who’s also a photographer. I’m pretty sure I broke her a little. I showed up with printed instructions for every single pose, where my husband’s hands should go, exactly where my stepson should stand, how my whole family should be arranged, step by step, like a tiny photography syllabus. I spent half the session flipping through paperwork instead of just being in the moment. At one point my cousin laughed and said, “you know nobody else does this, right?” And that was it. That was the moment the idea planted itself in my brain and refused to leave.
I started photographing my friends, my family, my own kids, anyone who’d let me, and I fell completely in love with it. Somewhere between those backyard sessions and way too many hours studying light, posing, and editing, it turned into what it is now, full styled, editorial portrait experiences for women going through some of the biggest chapters of their lives.
*If you walk into my studio and see me holding a mug, it’s a double bagged green tea with honey. Every single time. It’s basically my pre-session ritual at this point, clean energy, no jitters, fully ready to make you look incredible.
*Also, if a session just wrapped and the backdrop is still standing there unrolled, that’s normal. I am too tired to deal with studio cleanup right after a shoot, so it just waits for me the next day. No shame.
Why I Do This
At the end of the day, I just really believe these chapters, the bump, the chaos of a growing family, the brand you built from nothing, deserve more than a phone photo buried in your camera roll. I’d love to be the one who captures yours.
Your story, your chapter, your vibe. No cookie cutter poses, no guessing what to do with your hands, just a genuinely fun experience that happens to also make you look incredible.
